Romance is dead. I find myself constantly looking back at old times on how our parents and grandparents met each other. People used to go out on dates and get dressed up to the nines, and not dressed up like how people do today but actually get "dressed up". The women would be in dresses, heels, and their hair all done. While the men would be in suits and ties. Going out with someone wasn’t about being on social media, snap chatting everything you do. It was really about living in the moment and making real connections with the person you’re with. I look at my generation and start to notice that chivalry is really dead. I was out eating dinner one night and saw a group of high schoolers finishing up their prom dinners. The group proceeded outside to wait for their ride and it was a cold night and the girls were out waiting in only their thin dresses looking miserable freezing to death. I was waiting for any one of their dates to offer their coats but it never happened. That night really made me think to believe that chivalry and romance is fading. Did society really screw us up that bad that we don’t even have courtesy for women anymore? Do we not have a single romantic bone in us? What happened to us? Sometimes I wish times were like old 50s and 60s films when being romantic was a norm. I don't know, maybe I’m just a hopeless romantic, stuck in the times.
My shoot is my interpretation of this idea. I’ll let you guess what I was going with. The model I have chosen is a familiar face, Corinn Childs. I chose to have her dress in a simple black dress and heels for a classic but elegant look. She definitely pulls off the dress, she looks absolutely beautiful. And yes, I chose the dress. A man can pick out a women’s outfit from time to time. It may not always be good but it’s a kind gesture lol. For the location, I wanted to have a classic/vintage vibe and I believe this shoot nailed it.
Enjoy!
